Why ‘Princeps’?

The ‘Princepes’, or the singular ‘Princeps’. Principes were the legionary heavy infantry soldiers of the Roman military. They were spearmen, and later swordsman of the early roman armies. Princeps were hand picked. Selected to do a job and do it well. Princeps were given tools, and expected to train to be effective in operating those tools.

Our mission is to build a community of competent and effective gun owners that understand that being a protector, of self and others, is more than just having a tool on your hip. Protecting yourself and your family comes with a responsibility to train yourself to be effective with the tools you carry. If you carry a firearm on a regular basis and are not training to be effective with that firearm, you are a liability, to yourself and those you choose to protect.

It is both foolish and dangerous to think that it is as simple as “point and shoot”. According to available research, the accuracy rate of LEOs in a shooting situation is generally considered to be around 30%. If this shows anything, it shows that it is just not as simple as “point and shoot”, and the importance of training regularly.

Anyone with a clean background can acquire the tools, let’s now train to be protectors and assets with those tools and not liabilities. That is why Princeps Consulting Group exists.
